Abstract
The paper deals with morphosyntactic properties and semantics of universal quantifiers in Looma (South-Western Mande). It is shown that Looma quantifiers form quite a heterogeneous group whose members differ considerably in their be-havior. The analysis of the Looma data at semantic level demonstrates that the Looma universal quantifiers fit well with the typological tendency and that seman-tic map offered in typological works on quantification reflects correctly their dis-tribution. In the meantime, this map in its present form needs some elaborations, since it does not represent all the aspects of the differences between the quantifiers.
